Climate Launchpad - world’s largest cleantech innovation contest

Energy & resource efficiency
Renewables & smart grid
Smart transport & logistics

Are you passionate about changing the world through entrepreneurship? Do you have an idea related to energy sector, consumer behaviour, smart mobility, or maybe food? If yes, we have great news: the world’s largest cleantech business competition Climate Launchpad is here again!

To participate, you need:

- A great idea to improve resource efficiency or the attractiveness of sustainable decisions

- An early stage team or a startup less than a year old

- No more than 200 000€ of previous investments

You do not need:

- A business plan - we will help you develop one!

The jury will pick twelve most promising and inspiring ideas to join the national month-long accelerator program. Besides cleantech, your idea may consider for example solutions related to energy, food, transportation or housing. Whatever the topic, for Climate Launchpad competitors the potential to decrease greenhouse emissions is what really matters!

The submission deadline for applications from Finland is 21 April. During the following months we will take you to an intensive two day bootcamp, and help develop your business idea together with experienced and successful mentors as well as your peers. The national final is on June 16th. The Finnish top 3 teams chosen by an esteemed jury will pitch their ideas in the International Final in Tallinn, Estonia on October 7th and 8th. The top 10 teams selected by the international jury will then continue to the 18-month Climate-KIC accelerator where dreams are made real, and ideas refined to viable businesses. In the European Final the winner will receive € 10,000, the runner up € 5,000 and the idea that comes in third place € 2,500.

Your idea can be related for example to:

- Industrial or consumer cleantech

- Renewable energy

- Bio and circular economy

- Living & smart homes

- Sustainable food

- Agriculture

- Internet of things

- Shipping and traffic

- Transportation

- Consuming

- Urban services

- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning

- Recycling

- Consumer habits and behaviour

More information on the previous year’s teams can be found in Climate Launchpad 2015 website.
