Neste and Outotec represent the world-class Finnish cleantech expertise in 2017 Global 100 Index of the world’s most sustainable companies by Corporate Knights, the Toronto-based media and investment advisory company. Other Finnish companies making the ranking are Nokia and Kesko.

This year Neste improved its ranking from the 39th to 23rd place, and is considered the best performing company within the Oil and Gas Industry. Outotec is ranked 90th in the list. Neste also recently won the Industry Leader Award Biofuels category at the 2016 Global Energy Awards.

Neste and Outotec are both serial performers in Global 100 Index. For Neste this was the 11th and for Outotec the 5th consecutive time in the ranking. Neste has been included in the list continuously for longer than any other energy company in the world.

"The sustainability performance of the world's leading companies improve every year. That is why making the list becomes more challenging each year. One-third of the companies on this year's list were different from last year," says Neste's Pekka Tuovinen, Senior Advisor, Sustainability.

Companies named to the Global 100 Index are the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industrial sectors and leaders in resource productivity, employee and financial management, and supplier performance. The 2017 results were announced at the World Economic Forum.
