Funding opportunities in the developing markets

Many small and medium-sized companies have the potential to expand their operations in the developing markets, but they might lack the knowledge of the funding opportunities available for them. Nordic Development Fund, Finpro and Sitra invite you to hear more about different funding mechanisms that are offered to Finnish companies who provide green, sustainable solutions and products for the developing markets.

The four-hour event will take place at the Team Finland house in Helsinki on 17 August. During the event, you will have the chance to learn about the funding instruments as well as have one-on-one talks with the representatives of the funding organizations.

Introduction to the topic. Sitra is a future fund that collaborates with partners from different sectors to research, trial and implement bold new ideas that shape the future. Our aim is a Finland that succeeds as a pioneer in sustainable well-being.

10:00-10:15 Nordic Climate Facility by Nordic Development Fund

Nordic Climate Facility (NCF) is a challenge fund that finances innovative climate change projects in developing markets. NCF's 7th call for proposals with the theme "Climate as Business" will open soon.NCF is financed and administered by the Nordic Development Fund, a development and climate finance institution established by the Nordic countries.

10:15-10:30 Nordic Project Fund – Nopef

Nordic Project Fund (Nopef) finances feasibility studies related to green growth and sustainable development in countries outside EU/Efta for Nordic small and medium-sized companies.

10:30-10:45 Finnpartnership and Finnfund

Finnpartnership provides financial support for the planning, development and training phases of projects aiming at establishing commercial activity in the developing countries. Finnfund provides long-term risk capital for profitable and sustainable projects in the developing countries.

Finnvera offers financing such as loans and guarantees to support exports.

11:00-11:15 Coffee break

11:15-11:30 Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Project Investment Facility (PIF) supports public sector investments with significant development impacts.

11:30-12:00 Tekes/Finpro – Smart Energy funding program and Energy Growth Program

Smart Energy is a national Team Finland program managed by Tekes and Finpro. It supports the role of Finland as forerunner and testbed of smart energy solutions.

Energy Growth Program helps the Finnish companies to seize the identified business opportunities in the energy sector around the world.

We encourage especially SMEs to utilize this opportunity to learn more and connect with the relevant funding organizations.
