Konecranes has won an order for 10 heavy-duty, built-up steel mill overhead cranes for Commercial Metals Company’s (CMC) Greenfield Project in Durant, Oklahoma, U.S.A. The ordered cranes will be used in various stages of the production process of the steel mill, which is scheduled to be commissioned during the fall of 2017.

The cranes will be delivered in phases during 2016. Konecranes will install the cranes and perform load testing and start-up as part of the supply.

"Konecranes goal is to be a life-time partner in achieving the lowest cost of ownership for our customers," says Doug Maclam, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Industrial Equipment, Konecranes Region Americas.

The cranes will include several technical features which help increase productivity at the mill. Part of the cranes will include an operators cab, and part will be radio-controlled. They will also be equipped with Konecranes TRUCONNECT® Remote Monitoring, which uses sensors to gather usage data-running time, motor starts, work cycles and brake condition.
