Team Finland delegation with Minister Mykkänen to Egypt in September
Mr. Kai Mykkänen, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, will visit Egypt (Cairo) with a Team Finland Business Delegation on September 26 – 29, 2016. Finnish cleantech companies are invited to join the Team Finland Business Delegation in connection with this visit.
North Africa’s largest economy Egypt is aiming to diversify and modernize its economy and services, develop renewable energy production, health care system and education. The Suez Canal special economic zone is expected to boost the economy in the upcoming years. Furthermore, the Egyptian government is building a new administrative city and invests in a new countryside project, including land reclamation in the desert. In support of the Egyptian development plans international financiers and European Union institutions have launched large funding programs in the country. There is an increasingly growing demand for Finnish knowhow in Cleantech, ICT, health and education sectors.
The invitation is extended to Finnish companies working on the following industry sectors:
• Cleantech: Water, Energy & renewable energy, smart grid, Waste to energy including waste management.
• ICT: including Health/Medical technology solutions
• Education: early childhood education, basic and vocational education and related digital design tools and learning environments
The program of the visit includes briefings on Egypt’s megaprojects as well as meeting with high-level public officials and opportunities to network on an industry level, offering participating companies the possibility to present their offering. Industry-specific programs will be developed together with Finpro operated Team Finland Growth Programs.
