UN procurement seminar in Copenhagen
The Trade Council and the Confederation of Danish Industry has the pleasure of announcing the next business seminar on opportunities to supply goods and services to the UN. The seminar is organized in collaboration with Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland and will take place on June 15 and 16 at the UN City in Copenhagen.
AN EXPORT MARKET WORTH USD 17 BILLION
In 2014 United Nations procurement of goods and services increased by more than USD 1.1 billion compared to the previous year, reaching a total of USD 17.2 billion. Finnish companies were awarded contracts and orders for USD 20.9 million in 2014, ranking fairly low amongst supplying countries. The UN requires a wide range of products from communication devices, machine parts, and relief aid to marketing and information services.
The Scandinavian UN Procurement Seminar is held once every two years. At the last seminar in June 2014, 139 Scandinavian companies participated. In total, almost 400 one-on-one meetings between companies and UN procurement officers where conducted. Over 20 procurement officers attended from around the world, representing every major UN agency and almost 100% of the substantial UN procurement budget.
This seminar offers case-based presentations of key UN agencies’ procurement needs and procedures coordinated to cover different sectors and product categories. In addition, there will be focus on future needs and partnership opportunities for innovation and joint ventures. New potential suppliers will also benefit from straight forward guidance on registration procedures and on-site registration.
Most importantly, the seminar will provide participating companies with the unique opportunity to meet individually with UN Procurement Officers during one-to-one meetings and a networking session.

All participating companies have the opportunity to apply for one-to-one meetings with the procurement officers when registering for the event.
Please be aware that the one-to-one meetings are not guaranteed and will be requested at the discretion of the UN representatives only. The selection is based on the relevance of goods or services, export experience and the particular agency's specific anticipated procurement requirements.
REGISTRATION & PRICE
Deadline for registration is May 6th. All registrations are binding. The seminar fee is DKK 4900 (about 660 EUR) for one representative from your company. For each additional participant from your company, the fee is DKK 2600 (about 360 EUR).
You will be invoiced the appropriate amount after the seminar has been completed. You may change or cancel your registration free of charge until June 1st by writing to email@example.com. No-shows and cancellations after this date will be charged in full.
We would like to inform you that, as part of the seminar, there will be an opportunity for a handful of companies from each country to showcase their solutions with a small trade show-style exhibition. The exhibition will be set up in the room adjacent to the main seminar room at the UN City, and there will be several opportunities during the program for UN representatives to browse your solutions.
Should you wish to apply for the opportunity to exhibit during the seminar, we ask you to send a brief description of the solution(s) you will be exhibiting and an outline of the challenges that your solutions help locals and UN staff in developing countries overcome. Please be advised that should you be selected, there will be an additional cost of DKK 5.000 (ca.670 Eur) to exhibit at the seminar.
