Rapidly growing Chinese winter sports market offers great business potential for Finnish companies

China aims to get more than 300 million people engaged in winter sports by the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. The country is looking for sustainable solutions for winter sports, meaning not only building infrastructure and training athletes for the Olympics, but ensuring long-term expertise in winter sports management. 

Finland has unmatched winter sports knowhow and energy-efficient and cleantech solutions to build a world-class winter sports ecosystem for the Beijing 2022 Winter Games. To showcase Finnish sustainable winter sports knowhow in China, Finpro is organizing Winter Sports Week in Beijing on 10-16 January 2017.

Cleantech Finland welcomes you to join Winter Sports week in Beijing, China!

Helsinki Jokerit will play their first official KHL game in China on 12th of January against Kunlun Redstar. In conjunction with this game, Finpro managed Cleantech Finland growth program is organizing various activities in Beijing for Finnish companies in collaboration with Jokerit HC and Helsinki Business Hub.

School Sports Seminar on 10th of January

 On Tuesday the 10th of January, there will a by-invitation only seminar on school sports. The event will be organized together with Beijing Municipal Education Commission. The seminar focuses on the developing Chinese school winter sports activities both in terms of facilities and training and the targeted audience includes Beijing Schools’ Head Masters and other institutions related for school sports activities. The seminar, starting at 1:30 pm, takes place at the Finnish Ambassador’s residence in Beijing.

The School Sports Seminar provides an excellent opportunity for the Finnish companies to understand the situation of school sports in China and the current development trends. The seminar also focuses on introducing Finnish solutions and know-how to the Chinese decision-makers and provides networking and match-making platform.

High-level Winter Sports seminar on 11th of January

On Wednesday the 11th of January, there will be a one day high-level Winter Sports seminar. Co-organized with Beijing Sport University, Jokerit and Helsinki Business Hub, the seminar focuses on winter sports from two aspects: Chinese winter sports development for the masses and The preparations for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. The agenda includes keynote speakers from the Chinese side on the current trends on winter sports for the masses as well as firsthand information on the Winter Olympics construction in ZhangJiaKou, the host of Nordic Ski and some of the downhill events in the 2022 Olympics.

During the afternoon the seminar focuses on the business opportunities regarding winter sports in China. One of the main partners is China Construction Group (CCG), company participating for Winter Olympic/ Sport Construction. The purpose is to introduce Finnish technologies and solutions to CCG Sport Construction Division and create concrete collaboration between seminar participants. In addition, there will also be other Chinese companies looking for Finnish know how in the winter sports management and technologies. 

In addition, there will be supplementary event that focuses on Recreational Sports and Sports Coaching. Hosted by Beijing Ice Hockey Association the session brings together Finnish company offering and Chinese winter sports actors.

Both of the events above are free of charge.

Tour and mini seminar in Zhangjiakou on 15th-16th of January

After the Kunlun-Jokerit match day there is also a possibility to participate to a short tour and mini seminar in Zhangjiakou future Olympic village (120km from Beijing). During this tour there is a possibility to meet with the Zhangjiakou decision makers. This will be organized by Cleantech Finland together with City of Rovaniemi and Tengbom Eriksson Architects. PLEASE NOTE: the date for this event is 15th-16th of January (not 12th as in the last letter).

The participants will cover Flights and accommodation.
