Cleantech Finland members Wärtsilä, Cargotec, Vacon and Outotec were ranked in the top ten in a Finnish corporate reputation study conducted by management consultancy company Pohjoisranta Burson-Marsteller and investor magazine Arvopaperi.

KONE retained first spot for the fourth year in a row while Vaisala climbed to second place ahead of Ponsse. Along with Vaisala, UPM was one of the biggest climbers despite not making it into the top ten.

The main selection criteria in the ranking were international success, innovativeness and companies’ reputational risks.

“Reputational risks are reflected very accurately on investors’ evaluations of a company and its way of doing business, and have a clear influence on the desirability of a company as an investment,” says Jouni Heinonen, CEO of Pohjoisranta Burson-Marsteller.

The study was conducted in September and October 2012 with 1.135 Arvopaperi Online users and recipients of the Tietoviikko newsletter evaluating the reputation of a total of 70 companies listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange. The respondents are primarily Finnish private investors.
